Zhigong Glazed Pagoda in Shanxi Province, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644)

The pagoda has six elevations and eight floors.

There are two amazing aspects associated with the structure:

One is that, at the due noon on Summer Solstice day, the pagoda casts no shadow whatsoever.

Another is its bell that produces different sound in different windy environment, hence by listening to the bell sound the locals would know the wind direction.

But the preservation work is done terribly and the glazed facades are all seriously damaged.
