Last night was Lantern Festival

It was full moon and 15 days after Chinese New Year (Lunar calendar) and heralds the start of spring.  New Years eve was noisy but the fireworks yesterday lasted for about 10hours and they were very loud. Anyway, it is all over now and everything gets back to normal. Most of the schools start back next week, they have just two terms here with two, 6 week holidays, plus a few other public holidays as well.

Mei is making rissoles for dinner, she is learning quite a bit about Kiwi cooking now.

Had a good chat with Darren and family today, it is just so neat to see them on video and have a talk to them all. Also getting messages from Paul so in touch all over the place.

We had our first rain last night, no rain or snow in our part of the world for 58 days so it is very dry. Chatted to Sheri briefly and tried to talk with Diane but I don’t know what happened. Hope Sheri is ok and Diane and Fred mange to find Palmerston North while on their North Island tour.
